Activity 1: facilitated by ETSU Diversity Education
9:00am-10:15: Activity 1 will be focused on gender roles (personal and career), equal pay/ rights, respect/ healthy relationships, the discussion portion will include stereotyping, what is valid/invalid and how to promote awareness and inclusiveness of those who may not be like ourselves.
Activity 2: facilitated by King University BSW Program
10:30-11:45 am: Activity 2 will be focused on race/ethnicity, the discussion portion will include the several factors that are the major players in conversation around all kinds of prejudice issues teen face.
11:45-11:55: break
Activity 3: facilitated & provided by YWCA
11:55pm- 12 noon: Prepare for Classism lunch activity: draw #’s & explain process
12noon-12:45pm: Classism Lunch activity
#1’s (draw 4 students): UPPER CLASS (plated meal with YWCA Executive Director)
#2’s (draw 30 students): MIDDLE CLASS (typical brown bag lunch)
#3’s (draw 6 students): LOWER CLASS (soup kitchen concept)
12:45-1:00pm: Group discussion
Activity 4: facilitated by YWCA
1:00pm-2:15pm: Activity 4 students will learn about the 19th Amendment’s centennial with a dramatization of a suffrage report celebrating how Women’s Suffrage transformed Politics.
